Tax benefits
Tax benefits are measures that mitigate the impact of taxes by reducing rates, and tax credits system in recognition of the expenses incurred by the taxpayer additional investment and to benefit the public interest, social or cultural, including the national economic development.
The benefits include tax and customs incentives, including: deductions and other deductions to tax, deductions on the amount of tax calculated, accelerated depreciation, tax credits, exemptions from taxes and reducing taxes and other payments, and other special tax measures.
The tax benefits should be considered tax expenditures, and these "costs" must be declared by the beneficiary in its annual statement of income for purposes of determining and monitoring of such benefits.
The Investment Promotion Center (CPI), an agency within the Ministry of Planning and Finance, assist investors and the Government in the coordination, promotion, analysis, allocation of benefits, monitoring and verification of investments. For the investor can enjoy the tax benefits available must be registered and the project approved by the Minister of Planning and Finance in accordance with the procedures and requirements of legislation on investment.
The tax benefits are not granted to retailers unless they are in rural areas or build new infrastructure. The tax benefits are transferable if they are in force after the approval of the Minister of Planning and Finance.
